PT: A Poem For...

Hey Nonny, Hi Nonny,
Wierd Science-Fantasy
Hasn't the wherewith
To buy this canard.

Try us again next year
If we're not bankrupt for
Remuneration, Dear
Orson Scott Card.

(This was written years ago in a SF class I took from Brother Card--a rejection slip as a specific form of poetry. I have forgotten the name of the form. If any of you out there know it, please advise...! It was a great class, and he is a terrific writer!)

I love his books. I have no idea on the form.

Thanks for the moving comment you left on my poem. Thank you, thank you.

Does not matter about the form. It is kind of catchy if you know what I mean. Rolls of the tongue!!

Good word weaving by any name is a pleasure to read!

It is catchy. "Word weaving," how appropriate.

I, too, would like to thank you for you wonderful comments.

Very interesting- I think all rejection slips should be like this one!

brian--the words were Heartfelt.

gautami, I know it does not matter (the form) but I remember it has a NAME that I no longer remember....

Remiman--glad you liked it!

pam, I am always happy to see you here.

regina clare jane, thanks. And, may I use one of your Rumi quotes in my column next time?

I am so happy for your friendship, instead of rejection. Thank you.

I am going to take up your idea, I am going to find my face. :)

A rejection is still a rejection. But it's seems a little better to be rejected in verse!

Someone told me to read all of his books, but I never got around to actually doing it. What a cool rejection slip, though. For reals!

Rose, Good Luck!

January--Of course this wasn't really my rejection of OSC--I love him as a teacher and as a writer-first-class! It was an assignment.

Tina--start with one....

If we must get a rejection slip then this is the way to go ;)

You've ignited an interest. I'll have to read his work now. :)

bookbinds, I appreciate your comment!

Tina and beaman--try starting with Ender's Game, and Speaker for the Dead.

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by.

My husband, an OSC fanatic, will be jealous of your exerience with him. I loved the humor and zestiness of this poem.

Very catchy and very bold. I can almost see the rejector reading this out loud at the rejected (wouldn't that be something). Great form, great poem.
(Unfortunately can't help you with the name.)

A rejection that brings a smile feels less a rejection for a moment. Loved this.

I used your phrase for Poetry Thursday.

How creative even though it's a rejection. ;) xxoo
